The Township of Greater Madawaska’s flags are currently at half-mast as a mark of respect following the death of on duty Ontario Provincial Police Officer, Sgt. Eric Mueller, as result of a shooting in Bourget this morning.

Reduced load limits of 5 tonnes per axle on all municipal roads within the Township is still in effect until further notice.

Madawaska River water level - Griffith

The Township has been advised that water levels along the Madawaska River in Griffith will continue to rise over the coming days. 

No major flooding is anticipated, but we are vulnerable to rain over the coming weeks.

Greater Madawaska Community Clean Up Week

April 17-22, 2023

• Garbage bags will be available at the locations:
  • Griffith - Ginza Rink (15 Ginza St)
  • Calabogie - Community Hall (574 Mill St)
  • Dacre - DACA Centre (111 Flat Rd)
• Full bags may be dropped off in the bins at each of the above locations or leave a message for Municipal staff at 613-752-2249 to have the bags picked up along Municipally maintained roads
• Calabogie Lodge Resort is donating a one year family pass for all amentities (value $600) prize..

The Mount St. Patrick Transfer Station/Waste Site and the Griffith Transfer Station/Waste Site, will both be closed April 5, 2023 due to the forecast of heavy amounts of freezing rain.
