Snowmobile and ATV Licences

The City of Iqaluit handles Snowmobile Licences. If you plan to drive your snowmobile on any roadway or publicly accessed area in the City of Iqaluit, you must have valid registration, insurance, and a properly displayed valid licence plate.

To register your snowmobile, you need:

• Proof of ownership (a previous registration or a bill of sale)
• Proof of insurance
• A $25.00 registration fee

Drivers using a snowmobile for hunting or other traditional purposes to access the land and sea ice are exempt from the registration and insurance requirement. These drivers are to take the most direct route to access the land and not commute on City roadways.
