Pet Licences

Pets are required to be registered with the City of Iqaluit on an annual basis no later than January 5 of each new calendar year.

Pet registration for a dog or cat is free of charge.

To register your pet, complete a Pet Licences form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pets that have a City tag attached can easily be returned and at no cost if the owner can be located prior to impoundment. Once the animal is impounded, all associated fees and costs for its return will be incurred by the owner.

This ensures that the tag has updated information in case your phone number or address changes.

Pet tags are non-transferrable.

If a dog tag is lost, a replacement tag may be purchased for a $15.00 fee.
