Youth and families urged to attend upcoming vaccination clinics at schools across Waterloo Region
Waterloo Region – The Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force is partnering with local school boards to hold vaccination clinics for youth and their family members so all youth have the opportunity to be fully vaccinated before school starts. The vaccination clinics will be running the first two weeks of August at five schools across Waterloo Region.
Youth between the ages of 12-25 are welcome to attend these vaccination clinics and bring family members for the Pfizer vaccine. Youth must be 12 years old on the day they receive the vaccine. No appointments are required for first or second doses.
“We appreciate the partnership with the Waterloo Region District School Board and the Waterloo Catholic District School Board to host vaccination clinics for youth and families at five schools across Waterloo Region,” said Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Medical Officer of Health for the Region of Waterloo. “We urge anyone who is attending school this fall and their family members to take advantage of the opportunity to get their first or second dose. It takes two weeks after the second dose to receive the benefits and protection from the virus.”
The vaccination clinics will be in operation between Wednesday, August 4 and Saturday, August 14.
