WestJet station manager shaves head to help make wishes come true
Waterloo Region – For the fifth consecutive year, WestJetters from Kitchener-Waterloo will participate in the Go Blue! Go Bald! head shave and silent auction event. WestJet Station Manager Rui Pinto along with other members from the airport community will shave their heads to support one of WestJet Cares for Kids program partners, the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Over four years this event has raised more than $97,000 for Make-A-Wish.
“Last year we raised more than $31,000 and WestJet is proud to be part of this amazing event again this year,” said Rui Pinto, WestJet Kitchener-Waterloo Station Manager. “The Go Blue! Go Bald! event allows us to be ourselves and do what comes naturally – show we care. As WestJetters, we care for our guests, we care for each other and we care for communities we serve. We’re so pleased to participate in an event that will help this wonderful partner charity.”
Go Blue! Go Bald! will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Region of Waterloo International Airport in Breslau, Ontario to help raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southwestern Ontario.

Go Bald! Event is proudly sponsored by Edelweiss Tavern, 105.3 KOOL FM, 99.5 KFUN FM, Waterloo Region Record and CTV.
WestJet, through the WestJet Cares for Kids community investment program, has been a national corporate partner of Make-A-Wish® Canada since March 2007. WestJet donates flights to Make-A-Wish® chapters across Canada to help fulfill travel wishes, and encourages employees like Rui Pinto and his fellow WestJetters to become involved with their local Make-A-Wish chapter.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy! In 2011 Make-A-Wish® Southwestern Ontario granted 67 wishes, and is currently working with 120 families at various stages of the wish granting process. Support from events like Go Blue! Go Bald! helps Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario continue making wishes come true for these amazing wish children and their families.
