Working together to improve safety and reduce burden
Statement from RJ Falconi, Chair, TSSA Board of Directors
Working together to improve safety and reduce burden
This week I was pleased to join the Honourable Lisa Thompson, Minister of Government and Consumer Services, the Honourable Prabmeet Sarkaria, Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction, Assistant Deputy Minister Michèle Sanborn, Assistant Deputy Minister Kevin Perry, and a variety of business leaders and organizations for a roundtable discussion about improving safety and supporting economic growth.
The focus of our meeting was on working together to keep Ontarians safe while reducing unnecessary regulatory burden for business. We had a productive and frank conversation, and on behalf of TSSA I thank all participants for their feedback and candour.
I was joined at the roundtable by TSSA Vice Chair Brian Chu and CEO Bonnie Rose, who shared an update on our transition to an outcome-based regulator. We are excited about this transformation, which will see TSSA evolve from an enforcement-centric entity to one that is truly working with our regulated communities to promote safe practices and increase compliance. As we do so, we remain committed to enhancing safety where Ontarians work, live and play.
We look forward to working with Minister Thompson and her team, and to further collaborative meetings with our industry partners as we strive to ensure a safer Ontario for all.
