Waterloo Region – Here is a list of Region of Waterloo service changes and special events for the Easter long weekend, Friday, March 25, 2016 and Monday March 28, 2016.

All Regional Administrative Offices (99 Regina – Waterloo, 150 Frederick – Kitchener, 150 Main – Cambridge, Airport Administrative.) – Closed Friday, March 25,  and Monday March 28, 2016.

Grand River Transit 
GRT will be operating on a Sunday service schedule on Friday, March 25 (Good Friday) and on Sunday, March 27 (Easter Sunday). 
Buses will be running on regular weekday service on Monday, March 28 (Easter Monday), except for high school specials which are cancelled. 
GRT Terminal hours of operation will not be affected.
GRT customer service –519-585-7555 (available 24/7).

Region of Waterloo International Airport – will not be affected. 

Waste/recycling/green bin pick up will not be affected. 
Cambridge, Waterloo waste and all rural waste transfer stations will be closed Friday, March 25 and Monday, March 28.

Regional Children’s Centres and Home Child Care, Administration offices – Closed Friday, March 25 and Monday March 28.

Sunnyside Seniors Services
Sunnyside Home Reception – Closed Friday March 25, Open Monday March 28
Fabulous Finds Gift Shop – Closed Friday, March 25, Open Monday March 28
Sand hills Café - Open 
Sunnyside Wellness Centre – Closed Friday, March 25 and Closed Monday, March 28

All Regional Libraries 

All branches are closed Friday, March 25, 
Open regular hours on Saturday, March 26. 
Branches will be closed as per normal operating hours on Monday, March 28. 

Waterloo Region Museum – Open Daily - Regular Museums hours
The museum is open on Friday, March 25, Saturday, March 26 and Monday, March 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Sunday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Easter Weekend Activities – March 25 – 28

Daily activities and games for children, including stories and much more!

Easter Sunrise Service – March 27, 7 a.m.
Enjoy an Easter Sunrise service at the historic Freeport United Brethren Church in Doon Heritage Village.


Joseph Schneider Haus Easter Weekend Events,
Open Friday, March 25 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. 

Easter Eggstravaganza! – March 25 – 27, Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.

Sample some traditional Easter cheese and help the Schneiders scratch decorate Pennsylvania-German designs onto naturally dyed Easter Eggs.

Easter Egg Hunt – March 26, 10 a.m. start (The historic house will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Suggested $2 admission. 
Meet the Easter Bunny and bring along a small basket to collect eggs!

 

McDougall Cottage Easter Weekend Events,
Open Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. 

Homemade Hot Cross Buns – March 25, Drop-in 1 to 4 p.m. 

Let’s make traditional Scottish Easter treat – Hot Cross Buns! Stop by for a sample and the recipe. Admission by donation.

Traditional Egg Dyeing and Rolling – March 26 to 27, Drop-in 1 to 4 p.m. 

Try your hand at traditional egg dyeing and rolling fun. Easter treats for kids. By donation.
