What’s Open, What’s Closed, What’s Happening for Canada Day? (1)

Waterloo Region  Here’s a list of Region of Waterloo service changes for the Canada Day Holiday - Wednesday, July 1, 2015.


What’s open/not affected:

Charles Street Terminal Open - building hours: 7:15 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. Ticket sales 8:15 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Ainslie Street Terminal Open - building hours: 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. Ticket sales 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Closed 1:40 p.m. – 2:40 p.m.) 

GRT Customer Service – Open Wednesday, July 1, 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

 

Waterloo Region Museum – Open Wednesday, July 1, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Waterloo Region Museum is throwing a party to celebrate Canada Day and you're invited! Admission is FREE!

Joseph Schneider HausOpen Wednesday July 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  
Celebrate Canada Day and the arrival of Joseph Schneider and his family to this area in 1807. Birthday cake at 2 p.m. Admission is FREE!
McDougal CottageOpen 12 Noon to 5 p.m. Visit and celebrate Canada’s birthday. Enjoy refreshments.

 

Region of Waterloo International Airport – Open - Will not be affected. 

Garbage, recycling, green bin and yard waste  Collection as usual on holiday Wednesday, July 1.  All waste sites will be closed for residential waste drop off and compost pickup.


What’s running on a special schedule:

Grand River Transit will be operating on a Sunday Schedule on Canada Day - Wednesday, July 1
Plan ahead and pick up a Holiday Family Pass at either the Charles or Ainslie transit terminals .


What’s Closed:


All Regional Administrative Offices (99 Regina – Waterloo, 150 Frederick – Kitchener, 150 Main – Cambridge, Airport Administrative offices) – Closed 

Employment Resource Centres (99 Regina, 150 Main, and 235 King) – Closed 

Cambridge and Waterloo small vehicle transfer stations for residential waste drop-off - Closed

All Region of Waterloo Library locations– Closed 

Regional Daycare centres and Home Child Care – Closed 

Sunnyside Wellness Centre – Closed

Community Alzheimer Day Program – Kitchener & Cambridge – Closed
