Westboro Beach assault in June: police seeking witnesses

(Ottawa) – Investigators are seeking witnesses to an assault that occurred on June 5th at Westboro Beach. 

At approximately 11:15pm, two men approached two other men who were on the beach. The two suspects assaulted one of the men, who escaped and ran off. The two suspects then assaulted the second man. A woman tried to stop the assault and the two suspects began hitting her. The two suspects then ran off. 

The first male who was assaulted suffered minor injuries, the second male victim suffered serious injuries and the woman suffered minor injuries. 

One suspect is described as a Black male in his 20’s, 5’10” (178 cm), medium build with shoulder-length dreads. 

The second suspect is described as a Black male in his 20’s, 5’10” (178 cm), medium build with a cast on one of his arms. 

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who was at the beach on June 5th at approximately 11:15 that evening as they may have information or video footage of this assault.
