Water System Testing in the City of Waterloo

Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo and the City of Waterloo are committed to providing the residents of Waterloo with high quality drinking water.  As part of this commitment, system testing is required from time to time to optimize supply and distribution systems. 

The Region of Waterloo, in conjunction with the City of Waterloo, is undertaking a water system test. No disruption to water supply services is expected however there is always a possibility that users may experience discoloured water.  The area most susceptible to disruption is the central uptown core of the City of Waterloo. 

The test will commence on Monday, December 1 and last until Monday, December 15, 2014. 

City of Waterloo and Region of Waterloo water operators will be closely monitoring the testing and responding to any discolouration concerns.

Should consumers notice that tap water is starting to discolour, please discontinue use, wait approximately one hour then allow the cold water tap to run for a minimum of five minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes until the water clears.
