Waste management sites closed Family Day, no change to curbside collection
Waterloo Region – Beginning on Family Day (Monday, February 18, 2013), all Waste Management small vehicle transfer stations will be closed for residential drop-off on statutory and designated holidays. Only commercial customers requiring business access on those days will be able to access the main waste transfer sites: Cambridge (201 Savage Drive) and Gate 1 in Waterloo (925 Erb Street West).
There will be no change to residential curbside waste collection on the Family Day holiday. Regular green bin, blue box and garbage collection will take place on Monday, February 18, 2013. If Monday is your regular collection day, please have items to the curb by 7 a.m. as usual.
The new Waste Management transfer station and curbside collection holiday schedule is as follows:
- All transfer stations will be closed for residential drop-off on Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day and Boxing Day. Residential curbside collection will continue as usual on those days.
- All waste management services will be closed on Christmas Day 2013 and New Years Day 2014. This includes all landfill operations, residential and business drop-off, and residential curbside collection. Residential curbside collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week following Christmas Day and New Years Day (Wednesday collected on Thursday, Thursday collected on Friday, and Friday collected on Saturday.)
