Waste collection delayed in tri-cities due to unsafe road conditions
Waterloo Region – Unsafe road conditions may result in delays to garbage, green bin and recycling collection for residents who would normally receive collection on Friday.
Crews picking up garbage, green bin and recycling in Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo will attempt to safely collect as much as possible in the Friday collection areas. However, it is expected that some streets will remain uncollected. Residents are asked to please leave items at the curb for collection on Saturday.
If road conditions allow, trucks will return to finish collection in the Friday areas on Saturday. If waste remains uncollected after Saturday, residents are asked to please bring it in from the curb and hold it until next week. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank residents in advance for their cooperation.
Collection in North Dumfries, Wilmot and Wellesley townships is expected to be completed on Friday.
As the winter weather continues, all residents are reminded to please make sure their containers are visible, easily accessible from the curb at street level, and not placed on top of snowbanks.
The Cambridge and Waterloo waste transfer stations are open for regular hours today.
Additional information on all waste collection and diversion programs can be found on the Region’s website at www.regionofwaterloo.ca/waste. If residents have any questions regarding collection or issues to report, please call Customer Service at 519-575-4400.
