UPDATE: Filming Notification (October 19, 20, 23 and 24)
Please be advised that the following projects will be filming in and around the Galt Core area within the next few weeks:
The Designated 1 Ltd project originally scheduled for Friday, October 20, 2017 has been rescheduled (see below). The Main Street bridge will be open and accessible on Friday.
Thursday, October 19, 2017: An independent student film project will be taking place on the lower block of Main Street. No impact is expected on pedestrian or vehicular traffic in the area.
Friday, October 20, 2017: Casam Realty Inc. will be filming a commercial in and around the Galt core area. No impact is expected on pedestrian or vehicular traffic in the area.
Monday, October 23, 2017 (date has changed from what appears in the Cambridge Times City Page advertising): Rocket Woman will be filming scenes for an upcoming project in and around Queens Square/Main Street bridge, Monigram Coffee Roasters and the Riverwalk.
Anticipated impacts will include:
- reduced on-street parking in the immediate area
- full closure of the Queens Square/Main Street bridge area
- intermittent stoppages on the Parkhill bridge
- controlled fires
- staged protests/theatrical violence
- overnight filming
- possible light pollution.
Waterloo Region Police Services will be on site to supervise stunts and maintain public safety. Plan your route accordingly to avoid traffic delays. Please note, this set will be closed to the public - your cooperation is appreciated.
Tuesday, October 24, 2017: Shaftesbury Frankie 1 Inc. will be filming scenes for an upcoming project in and around Queens Square/Main Street bridge, Gaslight District, Blair Road, James Street and Parkhill Road East. This will be to obtain background footage for their program and we anticipate them being in these various locations for only one hour at a time. No road closures have been requested with this project, but there may be some intermittent traffic stoppages (of less than three minutes per stoppage) in certain areas.
Tuesday, October 24, 2017: Designated 1 Ltd. will be filming scenes for an upcoming project which will involve numerous special effects. Filming will occur in the vicinity of Queens Square, EVO Kitchen and Victoria Park (Galt).
Anticipated impacts will include:
- reduced on-street parking in the immediate area
- full closure of the Queens Square/Main Street bridge area (9am through 2am Wednesday, inclusive)
- large equipment
- simulated gunfire
- overnight filming
- possible light pollution.
Waterloo Region Police Services will be on site to supervise stunts and maintain public safety. Plan your route accordingly to avoid traffic delays. Please note, this set will be closed to the public - your cooperation is appreciated.
