Upcoming Film Project - Tuesday, May 21, 2019

The City of Cambridge is once again pleased to be welcoming the cast and crew from “Rocket Woman” back to film scenes for their upcoming season finale!  "Rocket Woman" tells the fictional story of a totalitarian society that exists in what used to be the United States, and is based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood.  Cast and crew will be filming scenes on both public and private property classes on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.  Set dressing will begin on Friday, May 17, 2019.

Anticipated Impacts:

  • Intermittent stoppages on Lansdowne Road North and Wentworth Avenue (afternoon and evening)
  • Limited access to Victoria Park (Galt) from Wentworth Avenue
  • Temporary installation of playground equipment (Victoria Park, Galt)

Special Advisories:

  • Late night filming on Lansdowne Road North
  • Potential light pollution through the evening hours

Parking:

Area parking prohibitions will be in effect for this project.  Please contact our office with concerns or issues:

  • On street Wentworth Avenue (south side, between Crescent Place and cul-de-sac)
  • On street Lansdowne Road North (both sides, between Salisbury and Wentworth Avenues)
  • Salisbury Avenue (north side, between Lansdowne Road North and Byng Avenue)
  • Aberdeen Road North (east sice, between Wentworth Avenue and Blenheim Road)

The affected neighbourhood has been canvassed for concerns.  Should assistance be required to mitigate potential impacts due to light spill in the evening hours, we encourage residents to contact our office or that of the production company. 

We kindly request that residents avoid the set in Victoria Park, and refrain from attempting to utilize their temporary installation of equipment.  The production company will have security personnel in the area to ensure public safety around this temporary set.
