Upcoming closures in Downtown Kitchener
Waterloo Region – Beginning Wednesday (May 3), the intersection of Queen and Charles in Downtown Kitchener, will close for approximately three weeks.
Charles, from Pandora to Madison, will also close on Wednesday for approximately five days while on May 9, Charles, from Madison to Benton, will close for approximately five days.
Additionally, Borden, from Bedford to Courtland, will close on May 9 for approximately four days.
These closures are required to allow GrandLinq crews time to complete finishing work related to underground utility construction for light rail transit as well as to address repairs identified through the quality assurance program.
Construction will generally take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Detours will be in place, and access to businesses will be maintained. The timing of all work is subject to weather conditions and construction constraints.
