Unifor (formerly CAW) Local 4304 representing GRT staff reach contract agreement with the Region of Waterloo.
Waterloo Region – An agreement between the Region of Waterloo and Unifor (formerly CAW) Local 4304, representing Bus Operators, Fleet and Mobility Plus staff, has received ratification.
“This negotiated contract settlement between Unifor Local 4304 and the Region of Waterloo will achieve our mutual goals”, said CAO, Mike Murray. “The deal provides equitable and fair wages and working conditions, while maintaining and improving the quality and level of services provided.”
Highlights of the Unifor agreement include:
- 36 month collective agreement from January 1, 2014 – December 31, 2016
- Annual increases of:
- 1.5 per cent in 2014
- 1.5 per cent in 2015
- 1.5 per cent in 2016
"We were pleased to bring back to our members an agreement that addressed a number of our members key concerns”, said Bill Gibson, Area director for Unifor. “I want to congratulate both bargaining committees for their hard work during the negotiating process."
Current membership of Unifor Local 4304 includes 622 full-time and part-time employees of Grand River Transit, Conventional and MobilityPlus Bus Operators and Transit Fleet Maintenance staff.
