TSSA Response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, TSSA is taking precautionary measures to protect our employees, partners and customers.

Social Distancing for All Interactions with TSSA Employees
While working, all TSSA team members will apply social distancing of two metres – in the office and in the field at customer sites. This means TSSA employees will remain two metres away from other individuals at all times when they are at work.

TSSA Inspections
In addition to applying social distancing, TSSA inspectors will be asking customers if they have travelled outside of Canada, are sick or have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, before performing their duties.

TSSA staff will also not be entering long term care homes or senior living centres, unless invited in by the facility.

Visiting TSSA’s Head Office
TSSA will restrict visitors to its head office if, in the last 14 days they:

  • Have travelled anywhere outside of Canada in the past 14 days
  • If you have close contact with someone who has travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days
  • Are currently sick including with a cough, fever or runny nose
  • Have been in close contact with a person that has contracted the COVID-19 virus or is suspected to have the virus. This includes being in contact with someone who is currently being tested for the virus and is awaiting the results

Examinations
For now, examinations will continue under modified conditions that allow for social distancing. This means exams will be rescheduled for a portion of candidates.

Electronic Submissions and Communications
Please refrain from bringing documents to head office and submit applications, payments and other documents electronically.

When submitting applications electronically to TSSA use the associated inbound email address located on the upper left of the application form, if the form does not list an email address, send your completed application with the associated prepayment to intake@tssa.org.

Guidelines for TSSA Employees
Customers and visitors can be assured that TSSA employees will be working from home if they have travelled outside of Canada, are sick or have come into close contact with someone suspected of having COVID-19.

In this extraordinary time, we are regularly assessing and modifying how TSSA delivers on its safety mandate. We are taking action to help reduce and contain the spread of COVID-19, while managing the potential safety risks created by a disruption in TSSA operations.

In addition, we are making decisions informed by the most recent data and public health advice. We will be immediately responsive in our approach, as more is learned about this virus and its spread.

If at any point after visiting TSSA or coming into contact with a TSSA employee you become ill with Covid-19, please contact a TSSA representative at 416-734-3450 to advise them of your situation.

Thank you,

Bonnie Rose,
President & Chief Executive Officer, TSSA
