Transit Team Appreciation Day

Waterloo Region – On Friday, March 18, join us in giving thanks to our hard-working Grand River Transit (GRT) staff as we mark Transit Team Appreciation Day.

This day is about honouring and appreciating each of our transit team members,” said Tom Galloway, Regional Councillor and Chair of the Planning and Works Committee. “GRT staff deliver a first-class service to the community. Whether they are maintaining our fleet, planning routes, adjusting schedules, keeping customers informed or in the drivers’ seat – we appreciate and thank them.”

Each day we hear stories about the difference GRT team members make in the community, from helping reunite a customer with a lost item to teaching a newcomer how to take transit. GRT connects hundreds of customers with the people, places and services they need.

Front-line staff are the face of GRT. They maneuver vehicles through our region and provide customer service and trip planning. This work is supported behind-the-scenes by staff planning for the future, creating schedules, maintaining our reliable fleet and managing our fare system. The entire team works to deliver the best service to customers in a safe and affordable way.

We encourage you to show your appreciation on March 18 with a simple hello when you board or visit a customer service location, or a thank you when you leave.
