Transfer stations closed for residential drop-off on Victoria Day, curbside waste will still be collected
Waterloo Region – With the recent re-opening of the Cambridge and Waterloo waste transfer stations for residential drop-off, the Region of Waterloo would like to remind everyone that these sites are closed for residential drop-off on all public and statutory holidays, including Monday, May 18 for the Victoria Day holiday.
Curbside waste collection services including garbage, green bin, blue box and yard waste collection will be collected as usual on the holiday Monday. Waste Management staff continue to work with collection contractors on the reinstatement of bulky item collection in the near future, but this service remains postponed for now. Residents are asked to please make sure that all regular household garbage is contained in a garbage bag, not loose in a garbage can.
Residents interested in receiving the most up-to-date information regarding Waste programs and services are encouraged to download the Region’s Waste Whiz app, and subscribe to push notifications (ensure that the app has Notification permissions enabled on your phone to receive these notifications regarding program start dates and cancellations.)
Reporting of curbside waste collection issues is best done through the Region’s online complaint form (visit www.regionofwaterloo.ca/waste and click on Report a Collection Issue).
