Safety Matters - Director's Update, Mike Adams for BPV/OE
In this episode of Safety Matters, TSSA’s Director of Boilers and Pressure Vessels and Operating Engineers Mike Adams joins host Greg Kerr to talk about revised regulations for Boilers and Pressure Vessels that will come into effect on July 1, 2018.
Interview Highlights
- TSSA will issue a certificate of inspection (COI) to BPV owners after equipment passes a periodic inspection and gains the Record of Inspection (ROI) from insurers.
- BPV owners will pay a COI fee to TSSA; a fee structure is currently under review and, once approved, will be widely communicated and reviewed/approved by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services.
- TSSA will implement an audit and attestation program to provide oversight of periodic inspections from insurers.
- TSSA will maintain a database of device-specific periodic inspection information from both insurer and TSSA inspectors.
- TSSA is developing a ROI/COI Customer Portal where BPV insurers/owners will be able to: login to the portal, upload ROIs for respective devices, update information, and gain the necessary COI upon completion of a secure payment option.
