Regional service changes for Canada Day (2)
Waterloo Region – Here’s a list of Region of Waterloo service changes for Canada Day on Thursday, July 1st.
What’s open on Canada Day:
- Region of Waterloo customer service line: 519-575-4400 (available 24/7)
- Grand River Transit (GRT) will operate on a holiday service schedule. Holiday service is noted on all route schedules. GRT customer service locations and hours of operation:
- 35 Ainslie St. S., Cambridge | 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- 105 King St. E., Kitchener | 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Region of Waterloo International Airport
- Regular collection for garbage, blue box, green bin, yard waste and bulky items.
What’s closed on Canada Day:
- All Regional Administrative Offices (99 Regina – Waterloo, 150 Frederick – Kitchener, 150 Main – Cambridge, airport administrative offices)
- Region of Waterloo museums, including the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum and Doon Heritage Village, Schneider Haus National Historic Site and McDougall Cottage Historic Site. Please visit our sites for virtual exhibits and activities.
- Region of Waterloo Library branches are closed. For regular hours and online events, visit rwlibrary.ca.
- GRT Operations Centre at 250 Strasburg Rd. in Kitchener
- No residential drop-off at Cambridge and Waterloo waste sites
- Welcome Spaces (99 Regina, 150 Main, and 235 King)
- Sunnyside Home reception and administration
- Sunnyside Wellness Centre
- Community Alzheimer Day Program (including overnight stay) in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge
