Regional facilities will remain open during severe weather
Waterloo Region – Region of Waterloo facilities will remain open today and Regional programs and services will continue to run.
UPDATE: Effective immediately, garbage, blue box and green bin collection for the remainder of Friday, February 8, 2013 is cancelled due to bad weather and unsafe driving conditions. Click here for details: http://bit.ly/TUVFxb.
Regional snow plows and salt trucks will continue to clear roads throughout the storm outside of city limits (City staff are responsible for clearing roads within city limits.) Given the amount of snow, it may take some time to get all roads clear.
Regional roads will remain open, however, Grand River Transit buses may be slightly delayed by poor road conditions. Pedestrians and drivers are asked to use caution or stay off roads if possible.
The Region of Waterloo International Airport is open but some flights will be delayed or cancelled due to the weather. Check the airport’s website for details: http://www.waterlooairport.ca/en/flightinformation/arrivalsdepartures.asp.
