Region to host Dialogue on Diversity: Creating age-friendly environments

Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo will host a sold-out event tomorrow to discuss issues facing adults 55 and older. The “Dialogue on Diversity” will focus on understanding ageism, changing demographics, creating age-friendly communities and living with dementia.

These topics will be highlighted by a number of speakers, including:

• Arlene Groh – Elder abuse and restorative justice consultant

• Harmony Interactive Theatre Troupe – Charlie’s Rant

• Dr. John Lewis – University of Waterloo School of Planning

• Brenda Hounam – Dementia spokesperson and advocate

• Dr. Doug Norris – Environics Analytics
