Region seeks public input for proposed cycling facilities

Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is looking to convert the temporary cycling facilities introduced through a pilot project in 2019 in Waterloo and Kitchener to permanent facilities, and further expand the cycling network. This project will look at cycling facilities along King Street North, University Avenue, Erb Street, Bridgeport Road and Caroline Street.

As we proceed through the design phase of these cycling facilities, we’d like to present a few options we’ve drafted to make sure we’ve captured the right elements that work for our community.

Join us on September 14, at 6:30 p.m. for a live virtual meeting via Zoom. The meeting will:

  • Introduce the project team and provide an overview of the project.
  • Explain the process for developing design options for separated cycling facilities along the study area corridors.
  • Provide an opportunity for members of the public to share their ideas and ask questions.

While registration is not required, if you register you will be sent reminders one day before the event, and one hour before it begins. A link will be posted on the project page at engagewr.ca/waterloocycling on the day of the event. The presentation portion of the meeting will be posted on the project page following the event.

Please direct any questions about the consultation, project, or if you require any accommodations to join this meeting, to Alberto Martinez, project manager at amartinez@regionofwaterloo.ca, 519-501-3938.
