Region of Waterloo to continue using local booking system
Waterloo Region – As the Ontario government rolls out a province-wide registration system, the Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force is announcing that it plans to continue to use the Region of Waterloo’s booking system for the immediate future.
“The Province has asked communities that already had booking systems in place, to continue to use their local system to alleviate expected pressure on the provincial system,” said Shirley Hilton, Deputy Chief for Waterloo Region Police Service and head of the Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force. “We will continue to use the Region’s booking system for the immediate future and will work with the Province in the days and weeks ahead.”
There are two ways to pre-register for the vaccine in Waterloo Region:
- On the Region of Waterloo website: COVID-19 Pre-registration Form, or
- Call the Service First Call Centre: 519-575-4400 (24/7, 200 languages available)
Residents can choose to be contacted by email, text or phone. It could take up to four to six weeks to be contacted for an appointment.
We are asking people who have pre-registered not to call to check the status of their appointment. Everyone who pre-registers will be contacted when vaccination appointments are available.
