Region of Waterloo Set to Honour Local Leaders in Workplace Health

Region of Waterloo Public Health will be showcasing local businesses and organizations that are leading the way in workplace health at their annual Healthy Workplace Awards on October 29th, and we would welcome media to attend. As part of the Region’s Project Health initiative, the Waterloo Region’s Healthy Workplace Awards Program recognizes and celebrates workplaces in Waterloo Region that demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the health of their employees.

The 6th annual awards celebration will be held on October 29th at Knox Waterloo from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. during National Healthy Workplace month.

Twenty local workplaces ranging from big companies to small start-ups may receive one of the four award levels; Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. The “Innovator Award” is awarded to one workplace that demonstrates innovation in workplace health.

The workplace has great potential to improve overall employee health and well-being and can support and complement employees' efforts to bring about a balanced life. Creating or sustaining a healthy workplace creates a win-win situation for both employers and employees .
