Region of Waterloo pauses cheque mailouts in preparation for possible Canada Post outage

Waterloo Region – Due to a potential postal disruption, all Ontario Works cheques issued by the Region are available for pick up only starting today.

OW cheques normally mailed out August 26 can be picked up Wednesday, August 31 at one of the Regional Community Services offices at 99 Regina Street South in Waterloo or 150 Main Street in Cambridge during normal business hours. Clients are encouraged to call their caseworker if they have any questions or concerns about their cheques.

Cheques issued to vendors who receive payment by mail will also be held at the Regional offices and are available for pick up until any potential postal disruption is over.

Vendors can call 519-575-4400 if they have any inquiries about a cheque they are expecting to receive in the mail.

Any potential mail disruption will not affect clients or vendors who receive payments from the Region by direct deposit.
