Region of Waterloo launches online progress report on 2011-2014 Strategic Plan

Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo released its 2011-2014 Strategic Plan progress report today.

Working in collaboration with many groups and individuals including area municipalities, community partners, advisory committees and other orders of government, the Region is delivering on five key focus areas outlined in the Strategic Plan, namely: Environmental Sustainability, Growth Management and Prosperity, Sustainable Transportation, Healthy and Inclusive Communities, and Service Excellence.

“Despite the challenges over the last two years, the Region has made remarkable progress on the strategic actions and objectives set out in the 2011-2014 Strategic Plan,” said Mike Murray, Chief Administrative Officer. “An increased demand for Regional services combined with current fiscal pressures means we need to ensure we continue to provide excellent public service to our citizens in a creative and collaborative way.”

The new online Strategic Plan progress report summarizes the accomplishments the Region has made and measures its progress toward its strategic goals.
