Region of Waterloo hosts final COVID-19 Community Update
Waterloo Region – After two years, the COVID-19 Community Update is ending. Since March 2020, Regional Chair Karen Redman and Medical Officer of Health Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang have provided regular updates to the community on the Region’s pandemic response.
As public health restrictions across the Province lift and case counts continue to decrease, the decision was made to end the weekly updates. Through more than 200 updates, Regional staff, business leaders and community experts shared over 3,600 hours of information to residents. New information relating to COVID-19 and the pandemic response will continue to be shared as it becomes available.
While restrictions lift and residents in the community and across the Province resume regular activities, it is important to remember that COVID-19 is still with us and continues to circulate. Vaccination remains the best defense against severe outcomes of COVID-19. Vaccines are available to those who are eligible throughout the Region. Get your vaccine today.
