Region of Waterloo and Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) ratify contract on behalf of nurses at Sunnyside Home

Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo has approved a Memorandum of Settlement with the Ontario Nurses Association (ONA) representing approximately 26 employees at Sunnyside Home.

Negotiations began in June 2016 and concluded October 2017.

Highlights of the Agreement Include:

• Two year collective agreement will be in place from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2018
  
  
• Minor adjustments to health benefits and premiums
  
  
• Wages:
  
  o     1.4 per cent – April 1, 2016 
  
  o     1.4 per cent – April 1, 2017

The Region's negotiated contract settlement with ONA will achieve the mutual goals of providing fair and secure wages and working conditions for employees, while maintaining and improving the quality of community services to the residents of Waterloo Region.
