Public notice for Franklin Blvd./Dundas St. Cambridge area

Temporary water supply interruption near Franklin Blvd. and Dundas St., Cambridge.

Please be advised that starting around 9 p.m. on Thursday October 5, 2017 there will be a temporary water supply interruption near the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Dundas Street in Cambridge.  Those directly affected by the water supply interruption will receive a hand delivered notice in advance of the shutdown.  It is anticipated that affected properties will have the water supply restored by 6 a.m. on Friday October 6, 2017.

After the shutdown is complete and drinking water supply is restored in the distribution system, residents may notice discoloured water.  This may not be limited to properties directly affected by the shutdown.  Discoloured water may temporarily appear in any part of the linked watermain system in Cambridge.

It is recommended that residents observe the water before using it.  Discoloured water can stain laundry.  We recommend that you do not drink discoloured water.

Running the cold unsoftened water tap nearest to your supply for ten minutes usually will clear discoloured water.  If the problem persists, please wait for an hour and try again.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Region of Waterloo Service First Call Centre at 519-575-4400.
