Public Health invites parents/guardians to complete a survey on the topic of talking to their child(ren) about growth, development and sexual health
Parents/guardians who live in Waterloo Region and have children 18 years of age or younger are invited to complete a survey as part of a project being conducted by Region of Waterloo Public Health and its community partners.
The survey is part of a project to determine how parents/guardians are talking to their child(ren) about topics such as growth and development, healthy relationships, self-esteem, and sexual health, and to learn about specific topics they are discussing. Another objective is to determine what resources or supports, if any, parents/guardians require to have these discussions, so that Public Health and its partners can work to make these available.
The survey will take no more than ten minutes to complete and can be accessed at http://tinyurl.com/parentsurveyWR who want to complete the survey in paper format can contact the Service First Call Centre at 519-575-4400 to have a copy sent to them.
Parents/guardians who complete the survey can also enter a draw to win a $25 gift card to a grocery store of their choice.
This project is being completed as part of the Waterloo Region Sexual Health Youth Strategy, a multi-year plan to increase access to services, enhance/improve training to youth and educators and to provide parents the supports they need to talk to their children about human development and sexual health.
