President and CEO Kathy Milsom Leaving TSSA
Toronto, ON, [August 3, 2012] – Ontario’s Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) President and CEO Kathy Milsom has announced she will be leaving the organization effective September 30, 2012.
“It is with mixed feelings that I will be leaving TSSA at the end of September. I feel honoured and privileged to have had the opportunity to work with such an extraordinary team of individuals and I am very proud of the accomplishments we have realized together. TSSA is entrusted with a significant responsibility by the government of Ontario and this trust has been well placed as Ontario is a safer jurisdiction as a result of it,” said Ms. Milsom.
“Kathy’s contribution to public safety in Ontario has been superlative. The Board of Directors would like to thank her for her leadership and dedication and extend our best wishes in her future endeavours,” said George Irwin, Chair of the TSSA Board of Directors.
At the request of the Board of Directors, Ms. Milsom has agreed to continue in her role until September 30, 2012 in order to support a seamless leadership transition.
An executive search will be initiated immediately and an interim CEO will be appointed to assume temporary leadership after September 30 until a permanent CEO is appointed.
“TSSA is a stronger organization and Ontario is a safer jurisdiction for Kathy’s contributions.The Board is deeply appreciative of her leadership,” added Mr. Irwin.
TSSA is a self-funded non-profit corporation responsible for the safety of elevators, fuels, boilers, pressure vessels, operating engineers, and upholstered and stuffed articles in Ontario.
