Potential for discoloured water in Kitchener and Waterloo
Region of Waterloo Water Services is working with the Cities of Kitchener and Waterloo on water supply maintenance. The maintenance work requires isolating a critical trunk water main to replace a faulty valve. Water supply will be redirected through the local distribution system which may cause changes in water flow direction. As a result, residents may notice discoloured water.
The maintenance is planned for Tuesday, June 5th and may continue through the week.
It is recommended that residents observe the water before using it. Discoloured water can stain laundry. We recommend that you do not drink discoloured water.
Running the cold, unsoftened water tap nearest to your supply for ten minutes usually will clear discoloured water. If the problem persists, please wait an hour and try again.
