Pop-up Performances create new approach for Celebration of the Arts engagement. Be on the lookout for artists near you!

Cambridge, Ontario. (May 23, 2024) – The City of Cambridge is taking the show on the road this year to promote the annual Cambridge Celebration of the Arts (CCA) event taking place on Friday, June 14, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Cambridge City Hall. ‘Pop-Up Performances’ will crop up in active or obscure locations throughout the city over the next several weeks and will bring local talent practically to the doorsteps of residents.

“This approach helps to bring attention to Cambridge Celebration of the Arts in a way that engages those who may not hear about the event otherwise,” said Mayor Jan Liggett. “It can be immensely difficult to engage the general public and this fun and unpredictable format not only showcases our local talent, it builds meaningful connections at a neighbourhood level and further promotes one of the City’s most popular events.”

These are some of the CCA Pop-Up Performances, scheduled for the following locations and times:

  • Saturday, May 25, at the City of Cambridge Public Works Open House
  • Saturday, June 1, at the Cambridge Farmers' Market
  • Friday, May 31 and June 7 at the #WalkQueen Hespeler Farmer’s Market

*Additional performances may take place at surprise times and locations leading up to the event.

Cambridge Celebration of the Arts is a free, yearly art festival that welcomes approximately 5,000 people into the downtown core. The festival features a broad mix of local artists from painters and poets to musicians and crafters. The full line up of performers and an outline of event details will be announced at an Official Launch Event held at Cambridge Civic Square on May 30 at 2 p.m.
