Pilot vaccine clinic at Elmira Family Health Organization opens today

Waterloo Region – Today, the Elmira Family Health Organization is beginning to vaccinate their patients currently eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. This clinic is the first pilot of a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Waterloo Region in a smaller primary care office.

Primary care vaccination clinics are one of five types of clinics being implemented by the Region of Waterloo COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force. As the vaccine supply increases, residents will have more opportunities to get vaccinated at primary care locations and pharmacies.

Primary care providers have a critical role to play in the vaccine rollout, including encouraging vulnerable and marginalized individuals to get the vaccine.

The vaccination clinic at the Elmira Family Health Organization is not open to the general public. They have reached out to eligible patients to book appointments for today’s vaccination clinic.

The following vaccination clinics in Waterloo Region are open to the public and are vaccinating priority groups. Appointments are required.
