New Dundee Water Supply – Iron and Manganese Water Treatment Upgrades
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
The Region of Waterloo has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for iron and manganese treatment upgrades for the New Dundee Water Supply System. The New Dundee Water Supply System is located at 156 Alderview Road in the Town of New Dundee, in the Township of Wilmot. The Study will review and provide recommendations related to iron and manganese treatment upgrades based on current industry standards and new technologies, as well as the location of potential upgrades, should they be recommended.
How is this Study being undertaken?
This Study is being undertaken as a Schedule ‘C’ project in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 and 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

How can I participate in this Study?
The Region encourages the public to participate in the Study’s planning process and learn more by:
- Signing up to the email contact list to receive notices (please email kyajima@regionofwaterloo.ca to sign up)
- Attending upcoming Public Consultation Centres (PCCs) once it is safe to do so, during the Study to review information and provide feedback to the project team (you will receive separate notices for these PCCs including how to participate from your own home).
