Proposed Site Specific Amendment to the Regional Official Plan
63 Benjamin Street, New Dundee (Township of Wilmot)
The Region of Waterloo is holding a public meeting to receive comments from the community on a proposed site-specific amendment to the Regional Official Plan (ROP). The public meeting is being held pursuant to Section 17 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.

Purpose and Effect
The purpose of this amendment is to establish site-specific provisions for the subject lands at 63 Benjamin Street in New Dundee, within the Township of Wilmot, to permit the use of an alternative individual wastewater treatment system on five existing undersized lots to facilitate residential development.

If you wish to register to speak at the public meeting, please submit your request in writing to regionalclerk@regionofwaterloo.ca by 4:30 p.m. by August 14, 2023. If you require accessible or technical services in order to participate in the meeting, please contact regionalclerk@regionofwaterloo.ca at least 5 days in advance of the August 15, 2023 meeting date.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit written correspondence and questions prior to the meeting by emailing regionalclerk@regionofwaterloo.ca.
All comments and information received from individuals, stakeholder groups and agencies regarding the proposed amendment are being collected to assist the Region of Waterloo in making a decision under the Planning Act. Under the Municipal Act, personal information such as name, address, telephone number, and property location that may be included in a submission becomes part of the public record.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo on the proposed ROP amendment, you must make a written request to the Regional Clerk, Regional Municipality of Waterloo, 150 Frederick Street, 2nd Floor, Kitchener, Ontario, N2G 4J3.
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Regional Municipality of Waterloo to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Regional Municipality of Waterloo before the proposed Regional Official Plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Regional Municipality of Waterloo before the proposed regional official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
