Northfield ramps on Highway 85 to be closed June 8 for up to 18 months

Waterloo Region – GrandLinq has advised the Region of Waterloo that their work at the Northfield ramps on Highway 85 will begin on or about Monday, June 8.

The work, which requires full closures of both the northbound and southbound off ramps from Highway 85 at Northfield, will last approximately 18 months. During this time, temporary lane closures on Northfield, from King North to the CN railway tracks, as well as night-time closures on Highway 85 will be required.

The northbound and southbound on ramps at Northfield and Highway 85 are not expected to be impacted during this time.

Construction will generally take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, however, some weekend work may be required.

Advance signs alerting drivers of the closure are in place. Detour signs directing drivers around the closure will be placed prior to work commencing.
