Northfield at the CN railway crossing to close November 13

Waterloo Region – GrandLinq has advised the Region of Waterloo that their work on the CN railway tracks at Northfield will begin on or about November 13 and last up to four days.

During this time, Northfield at the CN railway tracks will be closed to through traffic in both directions. This will allow GrandLinq crews to work under the CN railway tracks in this area to complete underground utility work.

Crews will work around the clock for an 88-hour period during the weekend of this closure. The extended work period will ensure trains are able to resume regular service on Tuesday.

All businesses in the area remain open and accessible. Customers are advised to follow the Weber and King detour to make their way to businesses in and around this closure.

Detour and way-finding signage directing drivers, pedestrians and cyclists around the road closure will be placed prior to work commencing.
