New – Sleep and Your New Baby sessions start today!

Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services and Ontario Early Years Centres (OEYC) have partnered to launch a new, free session for parents of infants (newborn to 12 weeks) on sleep. At the session, parents are learning how they can respond to their baby’s sleep cycle as well as strategies to promote more restful periods of sleep for their baby and family.

“Infant sleep is one of the most common issues for which parents seek help,” says Manager of Child and Family Health, Debbie Azim Fleming. “This session helps parents identify and respond appropriately to their baby’s cues and sleep-wake cycle, fostering parent child attachment which plays a pivotal role in the development of a child’s brain.”

The three main OEYC sites in the region are now offering this new session weekly. Parents can register at www.earlyyearsinfo.ca/sleep-sessions
