New permit requirements for work near the light rail tracks
Please note that those intending to carry out work on or adjacent to the road right of way (e.g. Regional property line to Regional property line), where light rail transit (LRT) tracks are located or in the vicinity of LRT tracks or LRT overhead wiring, will need to apply for a Region of Waterloo work permit two weeks in advance.
This work could include renovations, maintenance to existing buildings or work that that will impact any portion of the sidewalk or boulevard areas.
Please note that overhead LRT wires are live and should be treated with the same caution as any other live wire.
