Municipal Trade Show attracts 4,000 to Waterloo Region
Waterloo Region – Approximately 4,000 municipal staff from across Ontario are arriving in Waterloo Region today to attend the kick-off of the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors’ (AORS) Municipal Trade show tomorrow.
“The Waterloo Region Municipal Public Works Association is honoured to be the host for the 25th anniversary of this event,” said Emil Marion, Trade Show Chairperson and Region of Waterloo employee.
The Municipal Trade Show will take place at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex on June 8th and 9th and will open with greetings from Kitchener Mayor Carl Zehr followed by comments from John Milloy, MPP, Kitchener Centre.
The annual event is the largest show of its kind in Ontario and draws public works employees and suppliers for all aspects of public infrastructure such as: roads; sewer/water; parks & recreation; buildings; grounds; fleet safety & operations; airports; docks and emergency services.
The two day trade show provides an opportunity for public/private sector public works employees to share information on new technology in materials, services and equipment required to build and maintain roads and core building projects.
The Association of Ontario Road Supervisors is a provincial professional and educational association of individuals dedicated to providing high quality public works services and events. The AORS is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2011.
