Multiplex Site Evaluation Assessment Task Force invites the public to January 9 information session
Cambridge, Ontario. January 4, 2017…On Monday, January 9, members of the Multiplex Site Evaluation Assessment Task Force will be on hand at the Preston Memorial Auditorium to talk with the public and answer any questions about the findings and recommendations from the Task Force December 12, 2016 report to council.
“It has been an honour to be a part of the multiplex task force, and community engagement has been a critical part of our work,” said Chris Smith, Chair of the Task Force. “Many members of the public came forward to provide feedback and we are pleased to offer an opportunity for the community to speak with us about the final report and recommendations.”
The Task Force met several times from June to November 2016 to review potential sites for the proposed multiplex centre. The group received over 2,000 responses and comments through two open houses, an online survey, and delegations at Task Force meetings. The Task Force then worked with a third-party consultant, Deloitte, to identify criteria to evaluate potential sites and score them accordingly.
The final report includes five sites for consideration by Council. The report and more information about the multiplex project can be found at www.cambridge.ca/multiplex. The PIC will take place starting at 5:00 p.m. in the Banquet room.
The next multiplex council meeting is scheduled to be held on Monday, March 20 at 7 p.m.
