Monday’s inclement weather interfering with waste collection

Waterloo Region –   Icy road conditions on Monday resulted in several hours delay in beginning curbside waste collection and some households did not receive collection until the following day.  Monday’s delay and the high volume of waste continue to impact the collector’s ability to complete their regularly scheduled collection.

Monday collection: uncollected areas were completed Tuesday

Tuesday collection: uncollected areas were completed Wednesday

Wednesday collection: uncollected areas will be completed Thursday

Thursday collection: any uncollected areas will be completed Friday

Friday collection: any uncollected areas will be completed Saturday

If collection delays are experienced, citizens are asked to leave their garbage and recyclables at the curb for collection.  Please brush off any snow to assist with visibility.  If collection has not been completed after the second day, citizens are asked to call our customer service line at 519-575-4400.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank everyone for their patience as crews do their best to clear away the backlog.

Additional information on all waste collection and diversion programs can be found on the Region’s website at www.regionofwaterloo.ca/waste.  If you have any questions regarding collection, please call customer service at 519-575-4400.
