Monday area waste collection has been cancelled due to inclement weather
Waterloo Region – Due to the heavy snow, icy road conditions, and for the safety of the collection crews, waste collection vehicles have been pulled off the road. Waste collection, including curbside garbage, recycling and organics, has been cancelled for the rest of the day.
For those residents who normally have their waste picked up today (Monday area), garbage will be collected on Saturday, January 22. Please have all garbage items to the curb by 7 a.m. Please place items at ground level (not on a snowbank) and brush off any snow to assist with visibility.
Residents who normally have their recycling picked up today (Monday area) are asked to hold onto their blue boxes and green bins until next week.
There will be no impact to waste collection for the Tuesday to Friday collection areas. It is expected these areas will run as regularly scheduled.
The collection team has been struggling to keep trucks on the road today and for everyone’s safety, these schedule changes are necessary; we appreciate your patience and understanding. If collection is not completed on the alternate date, residents are asked to fill in the online Report a Collection Issue at regionofwaterloo.ca/waste.
Additional information on all waste collection and diversion programs can be found on the Region’s website at regionofwaterloo.ca/waste. If you have any questions regarding collection, please call customer service at 519-575-4400.
