TSSA Receives Arthur Quern Quality Award
For Immediate Release – (Toronto, April 18, 2005) The Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) has been recognized by the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS) for its outstanding contribution to improving safety in the province of Ontario.
On April 18, 2005, RIMS presented TSSA with the Arthur Quern Quality Award in Philadelphia, U.S.A. This award honours significant contributions within the field of risk management, and acknowledges activities and programs that demonstrate a commitment to improving quality.
“Our risk-based approach allows us to access and prioritize the level of risk involved in every area we regulate and identify those requiring the most attention,” said Michelle Williamson, Team Leader, TSSA Risk Management Services. “This approach helps us better understand the nature of public safety risk, develop preventive strategies to address safety hazards, target activity where it will have the greatest impact on risk, and improve safety outcomes generally.”
RIMS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the practice of risk management, a professional discipline that protects physical, financial and human resources. Founded in 1950, RIMS represents 4,500 industrial, service, non-profit, charitable, and governmental entities and serves 8,900 risk management professionals around the world.
