With the spring season almost here and March break approaching, more dining out events and other activities may be on your to-do list. I’d like to remind you that the Health Department’s Check and Go Durham disclosure program is available to help you make informed decisions and protect your health when using many of the services our community has to offer.
The Check and Go Durham web portal is available through durham.ca/CheckandGo. This portal is where you’ll find online inspection results for:
- Restaurants and other food premises
- Spas and salons
- Tattoo and piercing studios
- Licensed child care centres
- Recreational water facilities including public swimming pools and spas
- And more information including legal action such as charges and Orders issued to inspected facilities
In addition to the Check and Go Durham web portal you can also find the green, yellow and red signs around the region for both the Health Department’s DineSafe Durham and Know Before You Go programs, providing on-site information related to inspections of food establishments and personal service settings operators. If you spot a sign and you’re interested in learning more, you can ask the operator to view the establishment’s latest inspection report.
The Check and Go Durham program also includes health inspection results for:
- Splash pads and wading pools
- Small drinking water systems
- Public beaches
- And recreational camps
With Check and Go Durham, you can feel assured that your favourite local establishment has been inspected by one of our public health inspectors.
