Living with dementia? Help is available in Cambridge

Waterloo Region – The Sunnyside Community Alzheimer Program in Cambridge has been expanded and will now be open five days a week. This program offers a variety of services to meet the needs of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and their families.

Led by a qualified team of health care professionals, the Community Alzheimer Programs offer day programs and respite services in a stimulating, safe and “home-like” environment. Therapeutic, recreational programming is delivered in a way that acknowledges the abilities and interests of each participant.

Day and overnight stay programs provide the opportunity for family caregivers to have a temporary rest while strengthening their role as care providers and supports their continued ability to provide care, safely, in the home.

The Community Alzheimer Programs are operated by the Region of Waterloo and are funded by the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network.
