King Street East and Eagle Street reconstruction road closure begins on approximately June 19
Waterloo Region – Road reconstruction around the King Street East and Eagle Street intersection in Cambridge will impact traffic for approximately four nights.
Beginning on or about June 19, 2017 the intersection of King Street East and Eagle Street will be closed for approximately four nights between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. (subject to weather conditions).
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the road closure. Access to businesses on King Street at Eagle Street will be maintained through Chopin Drive from the west or Dover Street from the east. Detour routes from the north will be via Fountain Street – Maple Grove Road – Hespeler Road – Bishop Street; from the south via Bishop Street – Hespeler Road – Maple Grove Road – Fountain Street; and from the east via Hespeler Road – Bishop Street.
Grand River Transit bus route 52 is scheduled to operate on a detour for the duration of this work. Temporary bus stops will be provided as required during construction.
Later in the project, brief closures of King Street at nights or on weekends will be required to complete the paving of the final layer of asphalt pavement planned for July 2017.
